- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, multiplying potential returns.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap betting system that removes the draw by giving a half‑goal or quarter‑goal advantage to one team.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for betting.
- Bankroll Management
- The strategy of deciding how much to wager on each bet to protect your funds and reduce risk.
- Bookmaker
- A company that sets odds and accepts bets, also called a sportsbook.
- Cash Out
- A feature allowing you to settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or cutting a loss.
- Edge
- An advantage a bettor believes they have over the bookmaker's odds based on analysis.
- Juice
- The commission a bookmaker charges on a bet, usually built into the odds.
- Line
- The set of odds or point spread offered for a particular betting market.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is in progress, with odds that change as the game unfolds.
- Margin
- The built‑in profit a bookmaker keeps on each bet, often referred to as the juice or vig.
- Market
- A specific betting option, such as the winner, total goals, or player performance.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win a match outright, with odds shown as positive or negative numbers.
- Odds
- The probability of a specific outcome expressed as a number that determines how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals or points in a match will be higher or lower than a set line.
- Parlay
- A bet that combines two or more individual wagers into one, with odds multiplied and a higher risk.
- Payout
- The total amount you receive if your bet wins, including your original stake plus profit.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to a team to level the playing field, used to bet on whether a team will win by a certain margin.
- Pre-Match Betting
- Betting on a match before it starts, with odds set based on pre‑game analysis.
- Reverse Line Movement
- When odds move opposite to where most bets are being placed, often signaling sharp money.
- Single Bet
- A straightforward wager on a single outcome, such as a team to win, with no multiple selections.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a bet.
- Steam
- A rapid shift in odds caused by heavy betting action on one side of a market.
- Unit
